Why this blog?
In these pages, I will show why I have come to believe that my eyes had become “clogged and half closed with dust” 1 so that I could see, but only dimly, the light that is Jesus. As a result, my soul had become like dry bones in a desert, wind-blown and sand-whipped, punished by time. But then, one day, there was a voice in the desert: “Listen, O heavens, and hear, O earth; for the Lord speaks…I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life.” 2
I am, at the same time, both a seeker and a follower of Christ, with a story about how He, by His great mercy, is bringing life to “a parched and weary land.” 3
Who am I?
I remain anonymous, but for context, I am married and have 3 grown daughters. Home is a small college town where we attend(ed?) an independent Bible church.

1 Saint Teresa of Avila, The Interior Castle or The Mansions, ed. by B. Zimmerman, Grand Rapids, Christian Classics Ethereal Library.

3 “For I will pour water on the thirsty ground and send streams coursing through the parched earth.” (Is 44:1, the Message)
It has been very enjoyable reading your blog over the last few months.
Please tell your wife, Hi. and thanks for praying for me all these years!
